Let’s Talk About The Cat in the Hat…
Released in 2003, The Cat in the Hat is either one of your favorite movies or one of your most hated. Critics absolutely hated this film with a score of 10% on Rotten Tomatoes and the critics consensus being “Filled with double entendres and potty humor, this Cat falls flat.” however I think for most of us who loved the movie this is what we enjoyed the most. As a kid I thought the humor was on point, the set pieces looked amazing and whilst the story was whatever, it was such a fun film that I can forgive growing up and realizing that yes maybe it wasn’t the best movie.
I guess what we’re saying is that it could be classed a cult classic by now. We have the perfect recipe for that, we have colorful set design, crazy over the top characters, Mike Myers full of chaotic energy and a roomful of memorable quotes and comedic moments. I think despite the movies commercial and critical success, you’re going to have a fun time with this, especially as a drinking game.
