Let’s Talk About Dodgeball…
Forget about Troy, forget about Saving Private Ryan, what we have here is the biggest war movie of the 2000’s. On one side we have Average Joe’s Gym, a group of… unusual characters led by their king and gym owner Peter (played by Vince Vaughn). They’re in trouble of losing their gym to their rivals Globo Gym which is owned by White Goodman (played by Ben Stiller). To save their gym, the group enter a Dodgeball tournament with the idea that they’ll win the grand cash prize.
I remember constantly re-watching this film as a young adult and I was surprised when I re-watched it as an adult to see that it really does hold up as an awesome slapstick, goofy comedy. The film probably had one of the most popular trailers in the 2000’s due to the whole “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball” line and the film also inspired the game Dodgeball to be played worldwide, even down here in Australia.
Dodgeball Drinking Game
- This is a Dodgeball drinking game.
- It’s impossible to keep up with 15-20 drinking game rules. We limit our rules to 10.
- Each time a rule occurs, you take a drink. We don’t have any rules that tell you to finish drinks or make stupid fucking noises. We keep things simple.
- Our rules aren’t standard, they’re obscure. That’s how we’re different.
Drink Every Time…
- White Goodman strikes a pose or shows off his.
- Patches O’Houlihan throws an unconventional object during dodgeball training.
- Peter delivers a sarcastic or witty remark.
- A player gets hit in a particularly dramatic or comedic way.
- Average Joes celebrate a small victory or accomplishe something.
- Kate showcases her athleticism or outperforms the male characters.
- Cotton and Pepper provide colorful / humorous commentary.
- A character reveals a surprising skill or talent during a dodgeball match.
- Cotton delivers an over-the-top line or catchphrase.
- A player performs an exaggerated dodge or dive.
