Let’s Talk About Superbad…

In the 90’s audiences were treated to raunchy teen sex movies like American Pie. They were funny, they were wild and they were relatable. Fast forward a decade and we were treated to Superbad in 2007. Within the first minutes of the movie you can tell whether or not it’s a film for you. It’s either exactly how you spoke as a teenager in the 2000’s or it’s over the top absurd. For us? It’s 100% accurate. It make sense given Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote it when they were barely in their teens.

And how did people respond? To be honest better than expected. If we look at Rotten Tomatoes the film currently sits at 88% with over 200 reviews and in terms of box office performance we can see that with a budget of $20,000,000 it made back its budget plus a lot extra. Over the course of its theater run it brought in $170,000,000 worldwide. I mean it made $33,000,000 in its opening weekend, so it’s basically a major success.

Superbad basically paved the way for Seth Rogen and the Apatow crew to go on and make bigger blockbusters and for that we’re thankful. Plus, without Superbad we wouldn’t have been able to discover Christopher Mintz-Plasse who had his debut in Superbad. After Superbad he went on to crush roles in films like Role Models, Kick Ass, This is the End and Neighbors.

It’s impossible to keep up with 15-20 drinking game rules. We limit our rules to 10.
Each time a rule occurs, you take a drink. We don’t have any rules that tell you to finish drinks or make stupid fucking noises. We keep things simple.
Our rules aren’t standard, they’re obscure. That’s how we’re different.

Drink Every Time…

Seth is obviously pissed off at Fogel.
One of the 3 main characters showcase their horniness.
Evan acts awkward around Becca.
Seth says the word “fuck”.
Anyone says “McLovin”
Officer Slater or Officer Michaels do something that would get their badge taken off them.
Any character says “dick” or “pussy”.
An Apatow crew member shows up.
Alcohol is stolen.
One of the 3 main characters talk about college.
