Let’s Talk About Christmas with the Kranks…

This is a funny one, a lot of people don’t like this movie, they say Luther is a hateful human being with no redeeming qualities. And yet when I read the book I thought he was pretty funny? Maybe he just doesn’t come across that well on screen? Regardless, if you have Christmas with the Kranks in your Christmas drinking games rotation you’re going to have fun with this.

This movie is based on the book named Skipping Christmas by the legendary John Grisham. I had the chance to read the book, despite having to order it in as Australia doesn’t seem to want to stock it. The book is basically the movie, not much was cut. There was some strange things added to the movie that weren’t in the original book, like Jamie Lee Curtis’ obsession with vests, but we ignore that as the screenplay was done by Chris Columbus, another legend who also did classics like Home Alone (shout out to our Home Alone drinking game) and the original Harry Potter.

For me, this movie is one to chuck on once December rolls around. It’s not that popular, but it has some entertaining scenes and it will at least get you in the Christmas spirit. That said, go hard on the booze because our Christmas with the Kranks drinking game is meant for exactly that.
